My Movie Trailer

Reflection: Creating the movie trailer was simple and engaging. Having the iMovie software proved to be very helpful and I was able to navigate the program simply and effectively to create a professional looking trailer. Making movie trailers or posters can be applied to many types of inquiry activities that look to showcase an student's hypothesis. They can demonstrate a student's grasp of the concepts being assessed. Making movie trailers is also an excellent way for students to get creative and think imaginatively. I chose to do mine with just images, but students could film themselves or one another, use costumes, create fun sets, and more. In language arts, digital literacy is a main strand of literacy. Creating digital content such as a movie trailer is a fantastic and fun way to combine many parts of the Ontario curriculum and I hope I can use this in my classroom.
